Knee ligament injuries

Arthritis is a disease in the knee that causes pain and swelling in the joint. It is caused by inflammation of the joint lining.

What are the treatments for knee ligament injuries?

Knee ligament injuries can be debilitating and can lead to long-term disability. Fortunately, there are many treatments that can help patients recover from this type of injury.

Treatments that help rehabilitate knee ligament injuries:

  • Physical therapy - this is often the first treatment recommended by doctors and physical therapists. It can be used to strengthen muscles, improve range of motion, and reduce pain in the knee.

  • Exercise - this is also a common form of treatment for knee ligament injuries. The exercises focus on strengthening the muscles around the injured joint, which helps to prevent further injury in that area.

  • Surgery - knee surgery is sometimes necessary for more severe cases where other forms of treatment are not enough to heal the injury completely.

  • Mads - might be prescribed if there is significant pain or swelling from an injury to help manage it until it heals naturally or with other treatments like surgery or physical therapy.

How do you treat a meniscus rupture in your knee at home?

Some people with meniscus rupture don’t even know about it. It can be easily cured at home if you know what to do.

Step 1: Put ice on the knee for 15 minutes, 3-4 times a day.

Step 2: Take anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen to reduce swelling and pain.

Step 3: Apply a compression bandage to the knee to help with the pain and swelling.

Step 4: Put your foot where you want, but keep moving as much as you can.
